Softball Recap: Hawley Bearcats vs. Anson Tigers
Hawley won the last time they faced Anson, and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hawley Bearcats came out on top in a nail-biter against the Anson Tigers and snuck past 5-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hawley.
Lily Bailey was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Bailey was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a triple, a run, and an RBI.
In other batting news, Aubrie Frazier was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. Lucy Hatfield was another key contributor, going 1-for-2 with a home run.
Hawley has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Anson, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.
