Baseball Recap: Neuqua Valley Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Neuqua Valley extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 6-8-1 in the process. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Metea Valley Mustangs. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 12-7 win on Tuesday.

Mike Langan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Neuqua Valley is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-7-1 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Andy Barkley, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Joe Barkley was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Metea Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. Their defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it seven in a row.

On Metea Valley's side, they saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Lavery, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
