Basketball Recap: Five Straight Home Wins for Warhill

Warhill had won four straight home games and D'Shela Walker did her part to make it five on Thursday. The Warhill Lions took their match with ease, bagging a 53-20 win over the Smithfield Packers thanks in part to Walker, who went 12 of 23 on her way to 31 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Warhill's points.

Another player making a difference was Taleah James, who posted seven points along with five assists and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played.

Warhill has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Smithfield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Warhill will square off against Jamestown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Warhill is facing Jamestown at the right time seeing as Jamestown is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Smithfield, they will take on Western Branch at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
