Baseball Recap: Bothell Takes a Loss

Bothell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Creek Jaguars. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Jarrett Tyler was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed over his last four contests.

On the hitting side, Bothell saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braeden Fischer, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Fischer's first of the season.

Bothell now has a losing record of 5-6. As for North Creek, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

While Bothell had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
