Recap: Tyler Legacy Raiders vs. Wylie East Raiders
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Tyler Legacy Raiders can now relate to. They fell 23-14 to Wylie East on Friday. While losing is never fun, Tyler Legacy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 215th, while Wylie East is ranked 87th).
Von Lane threw for 87 yards on 13 of 28 attempts. Zabryan Hood was his top target, picking up 52 receiving yards. On the ground, Kavion Hall rushed for 45 yards.
Wylie East can attribute much of their success to Michael Henderson iii, who rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns.
Tyler Legacy are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Wylie East, Rockwall, and North Forney. As for Wylie East, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Tyler Legacy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Wylie East will square off against DeSoto at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in DeSoto's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
