There's no place like home for Discovery, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Apalachee Wildcats 88-31. The victory was some much needed relief for the Titans as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Discovery's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jade Jones, who went 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points plus six steals and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Jones a new career-high in field goal percentage (69%). Tiara Jones was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Discovery's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.
Discovery will head out to square off against Meadowcreek at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Apalachee, they will welcome Bethlehem Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Apalachee will come in still looking for their first win of the season.
