Preview: North Ridgeville Rangers vs. Avon Lake Shoremen
The North Ridgeville Rangers will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Avon Lake Shoremen at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as North Ridgeville comes in on six and Avon Lake on three.
Last Monday, North Ridgeville strolled past Lakewood with points to spare, taking the game 63-47. Given North Ridgeville's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Lakewood is ranked 361st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Grace Kingery continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 38 points and ten rebounds. Kingery is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Brooke Lime was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Even though Avon Lake has not done well against Olmsted Falls recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Avon Lake snuck past Olmsted Falls with a 39-35 win.
North Ridgeville's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Avon Lake, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.
North Ridgeville beat Avon Lake 32-23 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Will North Ridgeville repeat their success, or does Avon Lake have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
