Basketball Recap: Clay Comes Up Short

Clay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the Florida School for the Deaf & Blind Dragons, falling 46-14. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 518th, while the Dragons are ranked 195th).

When it comes to explaining why Clay lost, don't look at Yuliana Garcia-Rodriguez. Despite the final result, she posted six points.

Clay's defeat dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Florida School for the Deaf & Blind, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-3 record.

Clay won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. Johns Country Day at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Florida School for the Deaf & Blind, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against St. Joseph Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th. Florida School for the Deaf & Blind's defense has only allowed 29 points per game this season, so St. Joseph Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
