Volleyball Recap: Holton Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Holton took on Jefferson West on Tuesday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Holton sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 27-25, 24-26, 25-17.

Paisley Emanuel had a dynamite game For Jefferson West., getting. What's more, Emanuel also posted a 33.3% hitting percentage, which is the highest she's achieved over her last 12 matchups. Another player making a difference was Harriet Dean, who had 14 digs and two aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Holton and nudges their season record down to 18-7. As for Jefferson West, they pushed their record up to 17-7 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Holton beat the Tigers by a score of 2-0 later that day.
