Surry Central was sadly handed a defeat on Saturday, but Emma Gentry did her best to prevent it. Gentry turned in her biggest game of the season, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Gentry and Surry Central will take on North Surry at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Greyhounds are limping into the matchup having lost three straight on the road.
