Softball Recap: Maumelle Falls Short Against Ranked Vilonia

Maumelle faced Vilonia in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Hornets lost 9-2 to the Eagles. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Maumelle's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Vilonia, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Maumelle beat the Eagles by a score of 8-1 later that day.
