Volleyball Recap: Bridgeport Takes a Loss

Bridgeport lost against Marietta back in August of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Indians fell 2-0 to the Tigers. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Taylor Randolph paced Bridgeport's offense, picking up five kills. Randolph got some help from Addison Veigel and her ten assists. Rylee Decker controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Marietta's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Haley Wilkinson, who had 17 digs and two assists. Wilkinson is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Clara Becker, who had nine digs.

Bridgeport's defeat dropped their record down to 22-9-5. As for Marietta, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-5.

Bridgeport has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Greenbrier East on the 11th. As for Marietta, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against River View on the 11th.
