Volleyball Game Preview: Waynedale Golden Bears vs. Mapleton Mounties

The Waynedale Golden Bears will take on the Mapleton Mounties in a tournament on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Waynedale took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Oberlin.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-16, 25-11.

Kylie Geiser was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 11 digs and two aces. She has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Geiser wasn't the only good servers: Waynedale was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Mapleton earned a 3-1 win over Mineral Ridge on Thursday.

Mapleton's victory bumped their record up to 6-17. As for Waynedale, their win bumped their record up to 15-8.
