Basketball Recap: Lancaster Beats Blue Ridge for Their Third Straight Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Lancaster walked away with it. They walked away with a 52-40 win over the Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Bruins as they're now sitting on three straight.

Lancaster's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eliza Baskins, who posted 15 points and three steals. Baskins has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kemarja Peay, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards.

Blue Ridge lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Opal Maralit, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Those 12 boards gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Audrey Harkins, who scored nine points.

Lancaster pushed their record up to 14-13 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points over those games. As for Blue Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-7.

Looking ahead, Lancaster will square off against South Pointe at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. South Pointe will roll in looking for their 29th straight victory, something Lancaster surely won't give up without a fight. Blue Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
