Softball Recap: Bishop Loughlin Extends Winning Streak to Six

Bishop Loughlin came tearing into Monday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Nazareth Kingsmen with a sharp 17-2 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 12-5 win back in April.

Kendal Borden was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single hit and allowed only two earned runs while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Borden was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

In other batting news, Bishop Loughlin let Isabella Duverge and Leah Gethers run wild. Duverge got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Gethers got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Gethers has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Zoe Rodriguez, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

Bishop Loughlin pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Nazareth, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

As of now, neither Bishop Loughlin nor the Kingsmen have any future games scheduled.
