Recap: Crestview Knights vs. Allen East Mustangs
It was a good run, but the Crestview Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 45-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Allen East. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Crestview has scored all season.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cali Gregory, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. That was a full 45% of Crestview's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Myia Etzler was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Allen East's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rilynn Jones, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savana Brooks, who scored 11 points.
Crestview's defeat dropped their record down to 13-2. As for Allen East, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crestview will take on Van Wert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Van Wert focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Thursday. As for Allen East, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Celina at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
