Volleyball Recap: Arcata Wins Going Away Against Fortuna

Arcata won the last time they faced Fortuna and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Tigers put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 3-0 victory.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Arcata was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-10, 25-12.

Nora Brumbaugh paced Arcata's offense, picking up ten kills. Brumbaugh got some help from Harper Appy and her 20 assists. Appy also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Pearl Smith, each putting up four.

Arcata's win bumped their record up to 19-10. As for Fortuna, their defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-16.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Arcata is set to challenge their familiar foe McKinleyville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Fortuna will square off against rival Eureka at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
