Melissa lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Lovejoy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's matchup. The Cardinals took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-14 victory over the Leopards. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 35 points or more this season.

The win was the fourth in a row for Melissa, bringing their record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points over those games. As for Lovejoy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coincidentally, Melissa and Lovejoy will both be playing Independence the next time they take the field. The Leopards will host the Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Cardinals will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
