Volleyball Recap: Chiles' Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Chiles waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They blew past the Maclay Marauders 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in August.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Chiles took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-8, 25-13.

Chiles was led to victory by Madison Joyner and Natalie Gibson. Joyner had 12 digs and four aces, while Gibson had eight digs and three aces. That's the most aces Gibson has posted since back in September. Allie Higgins also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Chiles was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in three consecutive matches.

Chiles' victory bumped their record up to 23-1. As for Maclay, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chiles will challenge Crestview at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Maclay, they will square off against Valdosta at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
