Salem extended the longest winning streak in AA River Ridge this week by beating Christiansburg, 14-13. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Spartans.

Blacksburg made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,422 from 5,974. The advance stemmed from a 21-14 victory over the Bruins last week.

Hidden Valley's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Titans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Nic Ratliff has thrown for 567 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Jake Kite has 15 catches for 229 yards. Walker Brand leads the league in rushing with 754 yards.

The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Salem takes on second place Hidden Valley. Salem bested the Blue Demons last week, while Hidden Valley defeated Pulaski County.

Two of the top units in AA River Ridge will face off this week when the Titans take on Steve Magenbauer's team. Hidden Valley's offense has recorded 141 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Spartans have permitted only 99 on the year.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Scott Weaver's team takes on Salem. The Titans have allowed 113 points this season, while the Spartans have given up 99. Hidden Valley allowed 10 points last week as it topped the Cougars.

Christiansburg fell 14-13 to Salem in the closest game of the week.
