Soccer Game Preview: Manassas Park vs. Skyline

The Manassas Park Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Skyline Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Manassas Park and seven for Skyline.

It was a proper cat-fight when Manassas Park duked it out with Brentsville District on Monday. The Cougars came up short against the Tigers, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Manassas Park can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 299th, while Brentsville District are ranked 76th).

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Skyline's offense. They lost 8-0 to Warren County two weeks ago. That's two games in a row now that Skyline have lost by exactly eight goals.

Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Manassas Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Manassas Park beat Skyline by a goal when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 3-2. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
