Baseball Recap: Travelers Rest Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Travelers Rest had won three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they bumped their record up to 10-15 to make it four. They never let the Easley Green Wave get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. Surprisingly, this marked the Devildogs' third straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

As for Easley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since March 21st.

For Easley's part, they got a good showing from Walker Cox, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. The Green Wave are 4-2 when Cox allows one or fewer earned runs, but 7-10 otherwise.

At the plate, Easley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trey Kicklighter, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Looking ahead, Travelers Rest will welcome Pickens at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Devildogs are facing the Blue Flame at the right time seeing as the Blue Flame are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Easley, they will venture away from home to face off against Belton-Honea Path at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Green Wave surely won't give up without a fight.
