Baseball Game Preview: Springfield Millers vs. Churchill Lancers

Springfield is 1-9 against Churchill since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Millers will look to defend their home field against the Lancers at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Springfield is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Ashland, falling 9-3.

Springfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Leas, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Crater hit Churchill with a six-run third inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lancers took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Comets. The defeat continues a trend for the Lancers in their meetings with the Comets: they've now lost six in a row.

Brady Bousquet was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Churchill, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Springfield couldn't quite get it done against Churchill when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-0. Can the Millers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
