Basketball Recap: Rossville Christian Academy Extends Winning Streak to Five

Rossville Christian Academy had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They snuck past the Greenville Christian Saints with a 59-53 win. That's two games straight that the Wolves have won by exactly six points.

Leading Rossville Christian Academy to victory were Zach Portwood and Fred Motley. Portwood went 6 of 11 on his way to 21 points along with six rebounds and three blocks, while Motley went 6 for 14 en route to 18 points and seven rebounds. The matchup was Motley's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jolson Burks, who posted eight points.

Rossville Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 30.3% in those games and 0% outside of them. As for Greenville Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Rossville Christian Academy and Terry will meet in a canine-themed contest at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenville Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Joseph at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
