Softball Recap: Diamond Hill-Jarvis Comes Up Short

After flying high against Eastern Hills last Tuesday, Diamond Hill-Jarvis came back down to earth. Diamond Hill-Jarvis lost 24-5 to the Benbrook Bobcats on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-2 back in February.

Miriam Franco was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Diamond Hill-Jarvis has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. Benbrook is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Diamond Hill-Jarvis is set to take on their familiar foe Carter-Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Benbrook will face off against rival Southwest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
