Basketball Game Preview: North Sanpete Hawks vs. Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle

North Sanpete is 0-3 against Juan Diego Catholic since February of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The North Sanpete Hawks will face off against the Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle at 7:00 p.m. Juan Diego Catholic took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on North Sanpete, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, North Sanpete beat Gunnison Valley 51-40.

North Sanpete got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Evie Kendall out in front who went 6 of 13 on her way to 15 points in addition to five boards and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Job, who posted nine points and seven steals.

Meanwhile, Juan Diego Catholic didn't have quite enough to beat Kearns on Monday and fell 40-37. The Soaring Eagle have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

North Sanpete is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-8 record this season. As for Juan Diego Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.

North Sanpete came up short against Juan Diego Catholic in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 60-55. Can North Sanpete avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
