Basketball Recap: Trevon Singer Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Becker

Monticello won the last time they faced Becker and things went their way on Thursday too. The Monticello Magic walked away with a 74-62 victory over the Becker Bulldogs. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Magic.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Monticello to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trevon Singer, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Singer a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Carson Deibele, who went 7-for-10 to rack up 17 points.

Monticello's win bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Becker, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-10.

Coming up, Monticello will face off against Zimmerman at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monticello knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 games -- so hopefully Zimmerman likes a good challenge. As for Becker, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Chisago Lakes Area at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
