Basketball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Wiseburn- Da Vinci's Winning Streak

After flying high against Whittier Christian last Friday, Wiseburn- Da Vinci came back down to earth. The Wiseburn- Da Vinci Wolves took a 61-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mira Costa Mustangs on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Mustangs are ranked second).

The defeat snapped Wiseburn- Da Vinci's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 9-4 record. As for Mira Costa, the win keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Wiseburn- Da Vinci and San Dieguito Academy will round out the year against one another at at 1:10 p.m. on Thursday. Wiseburn- Da Vinci is facing San Dieguito Academy at the right time seeing as San Dieguito Academy is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Mira Costa, they will face off against Woodrow Wilson at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mira Costa knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 13 matches -- so hopefully Woodrow Wilson likes a good challenge.
