Baseball Recap: St. Edmund Takes a Loss

St. Edmund lost a heartbreaker to Vermilion Catholic when they met back in April of 2022, and they left with a heavy heart again on Saturday. The St. Edmund Fighting Blue Jays fell just short of the Vermilion Catholic Eagles by a score of 7-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Fighting Blue Jays of the 5-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

St. Edmund saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Logan Floyd, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Kane West also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

St. Edmund's record is now 5-4. As for Vermilion Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Coming up, St. Edmund will welcome Iota at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Vermilion Catholic, they will face off against North Vermilion at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
