Basketball Recap: Smithsburg Sets Scoring Season-High Against Governor Thomas Johnson

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Smithsburg). They took their match on Thursday with ease, bagging a 79-45 victory over the Governor Thomas Johnson Patriots. The Leopards have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 23 points or more this season.

Smithsburg's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Claire Bono, who shot 5-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jillian Malott, who went 10 of 16 on her way to 24 points.
