Softball Recap: Banning Has No Trouble Against Narbonne

Banning never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Narbonne Gauchos 18-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pilots also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Lilly Devora tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Sophie Cuadra was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kourtney Talanoa, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Banning kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive matches.

Banning picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 6-10. As for Narbonne, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Banning will challenge rival San Pedro at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Narbonne is set to square off against their familiar foe Rancho Dominguez at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
