Baseball Recap: Collins Takes a Loss

Collins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Christian Academy-Louisville Centurions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Centurions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Saturday.

James Sloane was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs. Collins is 2-1 when Sloane posts two or more runs, but 6-10 otherwise. Brady Morris was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Collins' defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Christian Academy-Louisville, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Coincidentally, Collins and Christian Academy-Louisville will both be playing Henry County the next time they take the field. The Titans will head out to face the Wildcats at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Centurions will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
