Basketball Recap: Patel Takes a Loss

Patel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the St. Petersburg Catholic Barons, falling 48-22. The Trailblazers were down 40-16 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Sophia Rice was Patel's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Elna Delcis held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

It was another big night for Naomi Denmark, who went 7 of 9 on her way to 16 points and six rebounds for St. Petersburg Catholic. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinsley Spoor, who posted four points along with nine rebounds and three steals.

Patel's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for St. Petersburg Catholic, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-6.

Patel will host Families Instructing Students HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on January 14th. As for St. Petersburg Catholic, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 25-20 loss against Osceola on the 9th.
