Springfield gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Evergreen Vikings 3-2. This was payback for Springfield, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Aubrey Wade and Claire Taylor scored all three of Springfield's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Evergreen's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Springfield wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next game, a 10-0 win against Ross on the 20th. As for Evergreen, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 4-4 draw against Liberty Center on the 21st.
