Baseball Game Preview: Bayou Academy Colts vs. Simpson Academy Cougars

Bayou Academy hasn't had much luck against Simpson Academy recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bayou Academy Colts will square off against the Simpson Academy Cougars at 12:00 p.m. Neither Bayou Academy nor Simpson Academy posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Bayou Academy took a 14-run loss the last time they faced off against Marshall Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Bayou Academy's pitchers stepped up to hand Marshall Academy a 2-0 shutout on Saturday.

Kellan Allen looked comfortable as he pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Bayou Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reed Batts, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Simpson Academy fell victim to Oak Forest Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Yellowjackets. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered since May 8, 2024.

Bayou Academy now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Simpson Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Bayou Academy might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Simpson Academy in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can Bayou Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
