Basketball Game Preview: Sabino Sabercats vs. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions

The Sabino Sabercats will head out on the road to face off against the Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Sabino will head into Thursday's game out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They were outmatched by Amphitheater and fell 58-29.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Pusch Ridge Christian Academy faced off against Show Low on Saturday. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy managed a 49-44 victory over Show Low. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's win came from a few key players Sabino will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nicole NJoroge, who posted 14 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Johnson, who put up nine points and six steals.

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's record now sits at 11-4. As for Sabino, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

Sabino came up short against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 55-42. Can Sabino avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
