Football Game Preview: Somerset Academy Panthers vs. Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions + How To Watch

Somerset Academy hasn't had much luck against Immaculata-La Salle recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Royal Lions at 7:00 p.m. Somerset Academy will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.

Somerset Academy took a loss when they played away from home on September 12th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Stranahan 35-0. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Somerset Academy's defense and their seven sacks. Leading the way was Elvis Ortega with two. Mason Mora got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Immaculata-La Salle put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 21-17 W against Ransom Everglades.

Somerset Academy better focus on containing Adrian Cox and Nate Merrell Jr. as the pair were huge in Immaculata-La Salle's win. Cox rushed for 142 yards and a pair of TDs, while Merrell Jr. rushed for 94 yards and one score on only six carries. Merrell Jr.'s longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Immaculata-La Salle was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 236 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Immaculata-La Salle's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Somerset Academy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Somerset Academy took a serious blow against Immaculata-La Salle in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 47-16. Thankfully for the Panthers, Taylor Trauth (who threw for 243 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per attempt) won't be suiting up this time.
