Basketball Recap: Man Comes Up Short

Man was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Tug Valley Panthers, falling 68-13. While losing is never fun, the Hillbillies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Panthers are ranked 33rd).

Tug Valley got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Makenzie Browning out in front who went 7 for 9 on her way to 17 points and three steals. Browning is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Kylie DeBoard was another key player, as she made all 5 shots she took to post 11 points and six steals.

Man's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Tug Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Man will look to defend their home court on January 3rd against Tug Valley at 7:00 p.m. As for Tug Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 77-13 win against Van on the 2nd.
