Baseball Recap: Grossmont Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Grossmont had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Helix Highlanders on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Foothillers: when they faced off against the Highlanders two weeks ago, they had to take a 12-3 defeat.

Luis Camargo looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Colton Burke was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Max Tufugafale was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Grossmont's record now sits at 10-18. As for Helix, their loss dropped their record down to 15-12.

As of now, neither Grossmont nor the Highlanders have any future games scheduled.
