Softball Recap: Enumclaw Has No Trouble Against Federal Way

Enumclaw barely beat Federal Way the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Enumclaw blew past Federal Way 20-9 on Friday. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 11 runs or more this season.

Enumclaw let Alyssa Neal and Kylar Navarro run wild. Neal scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while Navarro got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Neal continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Natalie Otero also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Enumclaw's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.0 runs over those games. As for Federal Way, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Enumclaw will take on rival Decatur at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Federal Way is set to face off against their familiar foe White River at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
