Softball Recap: Lodi's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Lodi extended their winning streak to five on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 20-6 in the process. They put the hurt on the Tokay Tigers with a sharp 7-0 win. Considering the Flames have won 13 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Ashlyn Jubrey's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 16 Ks.

On the hitting side, Lodi let Arissa Torres and Taylor Weigum run wild. Torres went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run, while Weigum went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. Those two hits gave Weigum a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tealla Rivera, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Lodi hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive contests.

As for Tokay, they moved to 17-9 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since February 27th.

On Tokay's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anabelle Sikich 2026, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one double. That double was Sikich 2026's first of the season.

Lodi and Tokay are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Flames will be playing at home against Atwater at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Lodi 2.7, the Falcons 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Tokay, they are taking a road trip to face off against Vacaville at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season.
