Softball Recap: Nansemond River Warriors vs. Deep Creek Hornets
Nansemond River had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-4 to make it four. They came up short against the Deep Creek Hornets, falling 16-8. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 6-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.
Demetria Burton was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Bailey Hare was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
