Basketball Recap: Chambers Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

There's no place like home for Chambers, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They skirted past the Butler Bulldogs 57-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since February 27th.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chambers to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cameron Thompson, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. With that strong performance, Thompson is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Tarris Bouie III, who posted 18 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Chambers smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Chambers pushed their record up to 3-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.8 points per game. As for Butler, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3.

Chambers and Dynamic Prep will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Dynamic Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 contests -- so hopefully Chambers likes a good challenge. As for Butler, they will host Garinger at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Aaron Lawler and Terrance Badio.
