Volleyball Recap: Oakman Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Oakman lost against Cordova back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wildcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils.

Oakman started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 25-27, 25-14, 25-19, 25-20.

Their offense was headlined by Haley Baker and Kelly Simpson, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Annleigh Hagood and her nine assists. Berkley Gossett and Aleah Said kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Cordova's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lexee King led the charge by getting 42 assists. King is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 17 or more in each of the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lexi Woods, who had nine kills and six aces.

Oakman's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Cordova, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-4.

Oakman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Hamilton on the 2nd. As for Cordova, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Oak Grove on the 2nd.
