Softball Recap: Marlborough Takes a Loss

Nashoba Regional hit Marlborough with a nine-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers came up short against the Wolves, falling 13-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 11-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Marlborough saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaitlyn Cabral, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. Hailey DeVincent also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Marlborough and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Nashoba Regional, their record now sits at 4-2.

Coming up, Marlborough will host North Middlesex Regional at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Nashoba Regional, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-0 defeat against Shepherd Hill Regional on the 17th.
