It was fun while it lasted, but Montrose's undefeated season came to an end after seven games on Friday. They were outmatched by the Macks Creek Pirates and fell 56-22. The game marked the Blue Jays' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

India Willis continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Macks Creek, almost dropping a triple-double on 28 points, nine boards, and 12 steals. Those 12 steals gave Willis a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emma Seaholm, who posted eight points and six steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Montrose fell to 7-1. As for Macks Creek, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Montrose will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Appleton City at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. After both having extra time off, Macks Creek and Leeton will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Macks Creek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.2 points per game this season.
