Basketball Recap: Cypress Bay Comes Up Short

Cypress Bay suffered their biggest loss since November 29, 2023 on Thursday. They came up short against the Windermere Wolverines, falling 85-60. While losing is never fun, the Lightning can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Wolverines are ranked 18th).

Cypress Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Windermere, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Cypress Bay will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Plantation at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. One thing working in Cypress Bay's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups. As for Windermere, they and Santa Fe Catholic will face off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
