Lakewood had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-0 win over the Northeast Vikings. The Spartans pushed the score to 42-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Vikings had no chance of recovering from.

Ayden Wallace had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 132 yards and two TDs on only five carries, and also threw for 140 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (161.9). Michael Reed was Wallace's top target, picking up 60 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
