It was a good run, but Denbigh Baptist Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Bayside Marlins. The Minutemen were not able to make up for their defeat to the Marlins from their previous meeting back in September of 2023.

Julia Kinney paced Denbigh Baptist Christian's offense, picking up seven kills. Kinney got some help from Addy Burgess and her seven assists. Kinney also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Julia Helmsderfer, racking up two apiece.

Denbigh Baptist Christian's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Bayside, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Denbigh Baptist Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Hampton Christian Academy on the 16th. As for Bayside, they will challenge Green Run at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
