Easthampton/Hampshire couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell victim to a rough 11-0 defeat at the hands of the Pioneer Valley Regional Panthers on Tuesday.
For Pioneer Valley Regional's part, Braeden Tsipenyuk and Ethan Mauthe did most of the damage at the plate: Tsipenyuk scored three runs while going 2-for-3, while Mauthe went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and three RBI. Evan Tsipenyuk was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Easthampton/Hampshire will head out on the road to challenge Southwick Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pioneer Valley Regional, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lenox Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
